GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN OUTREACH TRAINING SCHEDULED

 

The Democratic Party of Van Zandt County will host "Overcoming 80: A Grassroots Campaign Outreach Training Workshop" on Thursday, August 12, 2004 in the banquet room of Ranchero Restaurant in Canton beginning at 7 p.m.

 

All people in Van Zandt County interested in supporting candidates including Sheriff R.P. "Pat" Burnett, Tax Assessor/Collector Vicki L. Looney, and Precinct 1 Commissioner Candidate Albert Willingham are invited to attend to learn more about grassroots campaign techniques and campaign work.

 

Various techniques useful in GOTV (get out the vote) efforts and grassroots organizing efforts will be discussed. Several guest speakers have been scheduled to address the workshop including Charles Whittaker of Terrell, former regional coordinator for State Senator David Cain and a longtime political activist. The workshop isto persons of all ages and young Van Zandt County citizens interested in supporting Burnett, Looney and Willingham are especially encouraged to attend.

 

Dinner will be served. Individuals interested in eating will be responsible for their own meals. The workshop is free of charge, but reservations are requested to ensure seating and materials. Please call County Chairman Vince Leibowitz at to make your reservation.
