Miller Seeks Commissioners Post. July, 2003. (Press Release Courtesy Kelles Miller)

WILLS POINT--Kelles Miller, Wills Point Tuesday announced he would seek the Democratic Party's nomination for the seat of Precinct 3 commissioner in the 2004 Primary Election.

Miller is the first candidate from either major party to announce a candidacy for the March 2004 primaries.

The seat he is seeking is presently held by Jimmy Don Wilson, (D-Wills Point).

Miller has been in the construction business for 40 years in Wills Point, operating K.M. Plumbing, Miller Construction, and Mountain Stream Pools. He was born and raised in Wills Point and is a graduate of Wills Point High School. He has lived in Wills Point most of his life, and lived 12 years in Edgewood.

He has served on the board of directors of the Wills Point Chamber of Commerce, is a past member of the Wills Point Rotary Club and was Vice President of the Edgewood Historical Society for two years.

BUSINESS: 40 years in Wills Point and Precinct 3. One of a few businesses established and still being operated by the person who established it.

WORK: Has owned and developed housing, street, sewer and water projects. Operated heavy equipment, backhoes, dozers, etc.

SERVICE: Has worked all these years in service work to businesses and residences in Van Zandt County.

ROADS: Knows all the roads in Precinct 3 and will work to improve all of them.

GOVERNMENT: Vote for the people, use good common sense, keep the people informed, use the road funds as equal as possible and always have andoor. I would support law enforcement to help prevent crime and will try to prevent creating a heavy burden for the people.

I'm aware that the job as commissioner is a demanding and critical job because of the condition of the roads and the responsibility of business at the courthouse, but I've worked hard all my life for myself and I will do the same for the people of Precinct three," Miller said.

Miller said he wants  to represent all the people of Precinct 3 and Van Zandt County as commissioner and feels his background in business and construction will be a big help.

"I will always be available to talk to you and I will always respond," he added.
